Assateague National Seashore features 37 miles of long pristine beaches and
sandy dunes which protect the ecologically rich wetlands along the Chincoteague
Bay. The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful, but it’s the wild horses that
give this park its charm (and fame). At Assateague National Seashore you can
wander the beaches, swim in the life-guard protected waters during the summer
season, bicycle on paved paths or hike on paved or unpaved trails, and take
advantage of the water by kayaking, shellfishing, or surf fishing.
Another great nature park, this one a bit closer to Bethany proper, Delaware Seashore State Park offers pristine beaches

marina with all the amenities a boat owner (or renter) could want or need.
The beautiful Costen House Museum and Rose Garden is a must-visit for anyone

home between 1870 and 1920. The house has been lovingly preserved and makes for
a wonderful trip back in time.
The DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum offers a fantastic adventure for kids and
