Things to do nearby
Walk
to boutiques, restaurants,
Bethany boardwalk, specialty foods and
convenience shops, miniature golf and outdoor
recreation. Swim, boat, fish, water ski,
surf, run, bike, rollerblade or just read
on the beach!
Drive to the
shopping outlets at Rehoboth
Beach (140 of them, tax-free!),
two other boardwalks, more
dining options, grocery stores,
Fenwick Island State Park,
numerous golf courses, two
amusement parks and more — within minutes.
Built in 2003 and
designed by an award-winning architect, this fabulously
appointed, multimillion-dollar home features
ocean views and breathtaking interior spaces.
Fondly known around Bethany as “the
purple house,” this property is among the
area's most unusual, luxurious and spacious rentals.
The house sits just one lot away from the ocean
and four blocks from Bethany’s town center — within
steps of restaurants and specialty foods shops,
boutiques, and ice cream parlors.
Ideal for families and large groups, the house
sleeps 19, with three kings, one queen, three
singles, two sets of bunk beds, one full bed,
and a den with a queen-size aero bed. The
large open-concept kitchen features an array
of cookware and countertop appliances, two refrigerators
and two ovens. Amenities include five TVs with
DVD players and a home theater center.
A sensational setting
and destination in itself, this home was named
2004 Rental House of the
Year and was
featured in three publications.
One of Delaware’s most popular destinations,
Bethany Beach lies just south of Rehoboth and
20 miles north of Ocean City, Maryland. Perhaps
best known for its sweet sleepy atmosphere and
seven-mile stretch of fine
sandy beach, you’ll
recognize your approach to this quaint seaside
town by the towering red cedar totem pole, “Chief
Little Owl,” that marks the entrance to
its center. There lies the usual complement of
sunglass huts, t-shirt stores, taffy makers,
ice cream shops and peanut roasters along with
unique upscale boutiques and galleries. Built
in 1901, “The Quiet Resort” of
Bethany also features its own half-mile-long
boardwalk and museum.
May through September, Bethany
is chock full of events, including regular concerts
and performances at the
boardwalk bandstand, the
annual Fourth
of July Parade, a New Orleans
style funeral march marking the end of summer,
and the annual Boardwalk
Arts Festival sponsored by the
Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce — a
favorite end-of-season tradition for residents
and visitors, alike. Beach lovers will enjoy
the warm water and crowd-free sand through
till October.
Best of all, perhaps, is the convenience
of Bethany Beach. What little you cannot find
right there, can be found within minutes in
any direction, from fine restaurants to antique
shops, golf, movies, nightlife and amusements.
