Area Overview - Bethany BeachOne of Delaware’s most popular destinations, Bethany Beach lies just south of Rehoboth and 20 miles north of Ocean City, Maryland. Perhaps best known for its sweet sleepy atmosphere and seven-mile stretch of fine sandy beach, you’ll recognize your approach to this quaint seaside town by the towering red cedar totem pole, “Chief Little Owl,” that marks the entrance to its center. There lies the usual complement of sunglass huts, t-shirt stores, taffy makers, ice cream shops and peanut roasters along with unique upscale boutiques and galleries. Built in 1901, “The Quiet Resort” of Bethany also features its own half-mile-long boardwalk and museum.
